Rehabilitation of athletes – faster regeneration thanks to innovative therapy

Paweł Osak - fizjoterapeuta

Athletes are the most demanding group using physiotherapy services. Most often they report to the office after an injury from which they need to be quickly removed. To enhance the effect and shorten the recovery time, it is worth turning to high-energy laser therapy. It can be included in treatment immediately after injury, even in the acute phase.

Fast recovery and proven, patented solutions

Athletes have limited recovery times, so they expect physical therapists to have quick effects that will allow them to return to training and competition. Most often, injuries occur when the load on the body is highest, that is, during the starting season. Then the fight against time begins, which is associated with a lot of pressure for the physiotherapist. Very often, specialists turn to physiotherapy, which can accelerate tissue regeneration and return the athlete to the fight.

Physiotherapy is a type of medical rehabilitation using physical phenomena for therapeutic purposes. This is a field of science that is developing very rapidly. Many physiotherapy equipment manufacturers conduct their own research and patent their solutions. Athletes are most often the target group for testing the effects of therapy. In this article, we will focus on the innovative patents of the Mectronic Medicale brand and their iLUX Triax series lasers.

iLUX 15 Triax High Energy Laser

High energy laser is a therapy that is becoming more and more available in physiotherapy rooms. Its key parameter is the wavelength used, which allows it to reach the desired depth in the tissue. Mectronic Medicale, after many years of research, patented the use of three wavelengths: 810 nm, 980 nm, 1064 nm. The combination of their effects during one procedure has led to an accumulation of effects.

Another interesting solution was the discovery that the action of the corresponding wavelengths at a specific frequency causes inhibition of the pain impulse in the pain gate mechanism. The manufacturer called this mode of operation E2C (aka stochastic mode). The E2C mode is athermal, so it does not increase the temperature of the damaged tissue and thus allows working with the patient even immediately after injury.

Physiotherapists on the effects of iLUX high energy lasers

We believe that the best presentation of the effects will come from the physiotherapists using these devices, so we give them a say.

Michał Kaczmarek - fizjoterapeuta manualny, osteopata, pracuje z polską kadrą lekkoatletów i tenisistek Michal Kaczmarek (manual physiotherapist, osteopath, works with Polish athletes and tennis players) – I use a laser for sports injuries. The iLUX high-energy laser is an excellent tool for accelerating natural regeneration processes. Thanks to the laser, the results of my work have reached a higher level.

Aleksandra Olszak - fizjoterapeutka Aleksandra Olshak (physiotherapist) – Working with the iLUX high energy laser gives me pleasure. By using three wavelengths in one laser, you can achieve truly impressive effects. I think the biggest advantage of the laser is the ability to use the E2C mode, which has an immediate analgesic effect. In most cases, the effect is visible immediately after the first procedure.

Bartłomiej Lis - fizjoterapeuta Bartłomiej Lis (physiotherapist) – The iLUX high energy laser is an innovative solution in patient therapy. One of the biggest advantages of the device is the fact that we can work with a patient even in an acute condition, immediately after an injury. Thanks to the laser, we can quickly accelerate regeneration and make our patients recover quickly. I use a high energy laser in my work with athletes, including in such cases as: bruises, contractures, sprains, muscle overload.

Paweł Osak - fizjoterapeuta Pavel Osak (physiotherapist) – iLUX provides excellent therapeutic effects, especially when working with athletes. I love using the laser during sports camps, so the athletes they work with can train despite pain and injury.
